At 3.32am local time (Gmt +2) an measuring 5.8 on the richter scale had struck the region of Aquila Killing 13 people and leaving many more yet undiscoverd in the ruins and as a sick twist of irony the local 'San Salvatore' hospital which was being touched up had also recieved some damage.
Being in Rome at the time, i did feel the intial shock but seeing as underneath rome it is virtually empty there shock here was not as great but it did cause some damage in various regions.
Our thoughts go out the families effected by this natural disaster.
